If you live in the Southern California area, the Compassionate Cuisine Celebration is this weekend on Saturday, October 4, from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. Held at the 2nd City Council Gallery and Performance Space at 435 Alamitos Avenue in Long Beach, this event, in its third year, is a celebration of International Vegetarian Day. For $35, you get food, art, music, and fun. Best of all, it’s for a great cause! Okay, the truth is, the best thing is the food. However, if you’re into more than just food, they also have Lorri Bauston as one of the featured speakers. She’s the co-founder of Farm Sanctuary, and the president and founder of Animal Acres. Tickets are limited, so reserve ASAP. If you can’t make it and feel guilty, then think about donating to Animal Acres. They do incredible work in saving animals and educating people. Animal Acres is located about 45 minutes from Los Angeles in Acton. It’s open to the public every Sunday, and anyone can visit. The price of admission is $5 for anyone over four years of age. So if you’re three, then you can get in free! (Of course, if you’re three, and able to read this blog, then I think you’re pretty incredible.) If you do end up donating $25 each year, then you get free admission on the Sunday Tour Day!
